Welcome back all! A special welcome to all the first year's out there who are currently enjoying their O-week; filled with surprising practice tests, long boring welcome speeches and mundane mock lectures - just a taste of what is to come xP! Haha hope it wasn't all THAT bad; in any case we were definitely there to help on that front!
A requirement of being part of Universe ( the Campus Christian Club ), is being able to think creatively and on the spot. Take putting up our banner for example. What's the best way to hold up a banner with existing string connected to it? Use the string? Wrong! Use DUCT TAPE! How do you make sure people don't trip over the cables? DUCT TAPE. What do you use if there's a hole in a balloon animal? DUCT TAPE.
Also as you may have noticed, sugar and freebies are a few of the fundamental aspects of Universe. Expect more coming your way throughout this year!
At Universe, we embrace all cultures. Considering the majority of asians in our midst, this time around our showbags were replaced by showboxes: cute chinese takeaway gifts! And inside, sure to surprise, was a free pack of noodles! Alongside this, YEOH's drinks and Instant noodles were being sold with all profits going to the Bushfire appeal!
Cheers to Henza who literally tore his muscles, ripped his shoes and bent his back to bring in a MAMMOTH TV. It was really something to behold. THAT, my friends is dedication. And sure enough Guitar Hero was a SMASH HIT (Oh dear. That was a terrible pun. Forgive me...)
