UNIVERSE PRESENTS.... EVERYTHING!

Hello everyone! :)

Wow, it's been a long time since this blog was updated, my apologies for being AWOL!

But we have been alive and well and truly thriving as a community, friends and disciples of Christ Jesus! :)

This week on Thursday Night we have our Annual Skit Outreach--> EVERYTHING! 

When: 5-7PM, October 4th 2012
Where: LT1, Monash University Parkville

There will be light refreshments provided after the skit :)

Really hope to see you there! :D

 

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone! It's great to celebrate that our Saviour and King Jesus Christ, is alive and not dead! I hope you have been spending time out in reflection, gratitude and thanksgiving during the last few days, remembering His sacrifice and great love and what this means for us now :)

More than the chocolates, Easter-egg hunts, hot cross buns, and even time out with family and friends, this weekend has been all about the sacrifice of love through the cross. What was a symbol of oppression in the Roman times, has now been giving new meaning: freedom for all humanity through the blood of Jesus! He who was fully God, yet fully man, was innocent and blameless when they crucified Him. All the pain and suffering He endured because of us.

I love the way the Message words arguably the most quoted Scripture verse (John 3:16):

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.

Anyone and everyone can have life- life to the full on this earth and for all of eternity if we just believe in Him. No matter how grey your past was, through the light of the cross, all our sins have been forgiven and forgotten- this is how much He loves us and this is great news!

So SMILE! :) and whilst you're smiling at this good news, I challenge you to get the meaning of this message in your heart and Spirit, and not just in your mind :)

Universe Welcome Dinner 2012!

On Tuesday 6th March, we had our annual Universe Welcome Dinner for 2012! :)

It was held from 6-9pm at Chili Padi, in Melbourne Central.

Overall, it was a great night of food, fun and fellowship- as per tradition! :)

We kicked off the night with a great Ice-Breaker game, Name Bingo, which ensured that everyone knew at least another 25 people (to fill their grid with certain characteristics) and got to mingle with one another!

Then we had Pastor Vic come up and speak on being a witness for our campus, as well as saying grace!

The food, Malaysian was really delicious and we made sure none of it was wasted! :)

During mains, we had a special guest speaker, Geoffrey, a practising pharmacist from Reach Church, speak on what it means to be a Christian Pharmacist. To be known for our love for God and one another in our campus and in our future professional lives. And to trust Him to lead us on through every moment in life- a truly inspiring message, I'm sure that we all left challenged by his words!

We wrapped up the night with the raffle draw, congratulations to Natalie for winning the grand prize of 2 movie tickets!

All in all, such a great start to kick of 2012! We can't wait for what the rest of 2012 has to bring... and our next event-

PICNIC AT PARKVILLE!

UNIVERSE O-WEEK 2012

Hello everyone! :)

Welcome back to Uni for a new year, 2012!!! :) And a big shout out and welcome to our new first year friends! :) We hope this year will be an amazing year for all of you, and that you all feel at home here at Monash Parkville! :)

Super excited for what's in store this year! :) We have many events planned for the year, beginning with O-Week and Clubs Day today! :) Hope you all had a chance to check out the stand and meet some friendly Universe peoples! :)

Our vision for the year is encompassed by 4 E's- to Encourage, Equip one another and also to Evangelise to our fellow uni friends while being filled with Enthusiasm :)

The next event, one of the largest events of the year: UNIVERSE WELCOME DINNER!!!! :D

It's at Chilli Padi, Melbourne Central on Tuesday 6th March from 6pm onwards. Sign up within the next week to get an early bird rate of $10 for 1 entree, 3 shared mains and drinks! :)

We have many events planned for the year to come, including Picnic on March 10th, Waffle Days, Praise and Worship Nights, Movie night, Creation Science Guest Speakers, Universe Day Out and End of Semester Parties just to name a few...

All this along with our weekly Bible meetings, and prayer meetings with own very own Pastor Victor from Reach Church. It's a great way to connect with God and fellow Christians, and even if you aren't Christian, you're most welcome to come along! :)

So, we hope you are as pumped for the year as we are! Get connected, get inspired- 2012 is going to be an awesome year with God and friends!!! :D
